Our Mission

Empower and educate orphan children by boosting their skillsets and increase the employability rate of orphan children across India.

Education has been accorded with prime importance since ages so as to sustain oneself. PABS is of an opinion that an educated person better understands their own and others’ purpose in society, and their rights and that proper education improves people’s understanding of the world better around them, which makes them less susceptible to the influence of others. Proper interpretation of information requires education and skillsets, as it improves knowledge. Access to education becomes even more important in this digital world, without which an individual’s survival itself is at stake.

India, with its huge demographic divide and changes, where majority of the people living below the poverty line, education seem as a one stop solution to eradicate all the problems in the society.

The situation further accentuates, when we move towards the children from orphanages. Though the government machinery is in place to cater to the need for education, most of the children from orphanages are unable to receive benefits due to several factors and varied reasons and majorly so, due to lack of proper infrastructures, guidance, motivation, towards securing their livelihoods and funding for schooling. PABS envisages tapping the government schemes and machineries for the benefit of the orphanages.

Our Vision

To prepare and encourage the orphanage children in India to realize their dreams and pursue promising careers.

There are over 10,000 no of orphanages in and around Mumbai city of Maharashtra state. PABS Foundation have been working closely with a few of these orphanages by providing them with requisite basic education. Further, PABS foundation envisages to expand its reach to benefit orphanages at State and national levels.

Though the ageing out of orphanages in India is at the age of 18 years, there’s no set age that marks the end of foster care. When children age out of foster care, they become ineligible to receive state assistance with housing, food, and medical care under the foster care system. These children typically are already suffering ill-effects due to the lack of stable home environment while growing up; also cause newly emancipated young adults to suffer higher rates of substance abuse, mental illness, teen pregnancy, homelessness, child labour, child marriage, arrests etc. Getting emancipation from foster care is a major step toward greater freedom and responsibilities. However, this transition can be difficult without sound guidance and support. PABS would like to focus on the education in terms of live skill development in children in foster homes from the age of 16 years to give them a direction based on their passion and strengths, making them employable before they leave the foster home.
